Semi-finished metal products
are metallic semi-finished products in various shapes, elongated or flat. They are produced by hot or cold forming and are used universally, either standardized or very precisely adapted for a specific application. SIPRO® STEEL SOLUTIONS also offers in its product portfolio semi-finished materials in various executions for massive forming.

As the name implies, semi-finished products are only "half" finished.
A simple example is flour. It is an already processed product from a raw material, namely grain. Flour as a semi-finished product can then be used to conjure up an infinite number of dishes. For our products, this means that the steel is already a processed material and therefore no longer a raw material. However, it has yet to be processed into an end product. This means that the possible end uses are virtually unlimited.

Reinforcing Steel
Reinforcing Steel - Delivers What It Promises

In combination with concrete, reinforcing steel increases the load-bearing capacity of reinforced concrete structures. Unlike concrete, reinforcing steel can also absorb high tensile forces. Hot-rolled reinforcing steel in bars is quenched and tempered from the rolling heat. The product is supplied in different lengths as technically straightened, ribbed bars.
Reinforcing steel in coils is produced from hot-rolled and ribbed wire rod by a subsequent cold drawing process. After the drawing process, the wire is wound into compact coils. We also offer material quenched and tempered from the rolling heat, which is then spooled into coils. The coils are processed into bars and brackets on straightening, bending and cutting lines.

Reinforcing steel can absorb high tensile and compressive forces
In the case of high compressive forces, the principles of stability (buckling) must be taken into account for reinforcing steel. Concrete is able to absorb high compressive strength but can withstand only a low tensile load. If the two building materials, concrete and reinforcing steel, are combined, the result is reinforced concrete. The bond between the two components is created by the adhesion and interlocking of the two materials. Reinforced concrete can be used in a variety of applications, such as residential and industrial construction, road and tunnel construction, underground and above-ground parking garages. Reinforcing steel is used to build retaining and dam walls, which are subjected to immense vertical and horizontal loads. Reinforcing steel is also used in power plants and in sewer and water supply systems.

Wire rod is a hot-rolled long product that is formed into coils and used as a semi-finished product. Low carbon wire rod is used for the production of welded wire mesh in the construction industry, as well as for the production of drawn wire (raw, annealed and coated). In addition to wire rod made of special steels for further processing in forging, drawing or press methods, it is also used as welding wire. Wire rod is used in a wide variety of applications.

Bar steel is used in the automotive industry, e.g. for gear wheels and transmission shafts. Furthermore, bar steel is used extensively in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and plant construction. In the construction industry the good quality of our steels can be relied on, e.g. for drills and wrenches. Our high-quality products are also used in the handling of crude oil and natural gas, as well as in earthmoving and agriculture for soil cultivation. Our steels can be used in demanding applications – they can be machined and are available as ordinary steel and merchant bars.

VENETE Siderprodukte AG is your specialist in Europe for VENETE products. How did this cooperation come up? A brief look at the history: The electrical steel manufacturer ACCIAIERIE VENETE S.p.A. has been producing commodity steel products since 1957: ingots, billets and reinforcing steel. At the beginning of the 1980s, the company decided to specialize in carbon steel products. As a result of this development, it is now one of Europe’s most renowned producers in the engineering steel sector. In the course of time, a significant amount of investment has been made in personnel, technology, the process and, of course, in the products in order to produce top grade, resilient quality steel. The company has also diversified and broadened its scope with the acquisition of additional production facilities in Sarezzo, Mura, Dolcè (IT) in 2003 and the steel mill in Borgo (IT) and the rolling mill in Odolo (IT) in 2018.
In 2003, the close cooperation between the Acciaierie Venete Group and SIPRO® STAHL SCHWEIZ was initiated. With the acquisition of the Lucchini plants in Northern Italy, the joint sales company VENETE Siderprodukte AG was established in 2006. A new European rolling mill “greenfield project” started its production in Tarnos (FR) in the first quarter of 2018 with the processing of heavy plates. Laminoirs des Landes (LDL) stands for flexible, customer-oriented production with excellent customer service. Furthermore, we offer a fast, continuous and reliable supply of heavy plates.
With Laminoirs des Landes (LDL), a new generation of steel rerollers is emerging. LDL aims to integrate its business partners into the value chain at the highest possible level of automation and thus provide you, as an industrial processor of heavy plates, with an innovative business partner.
